Alsace wine of Domaine Gross

Family heritage, traditions, and principles of biodynamic culture have merged in a 10-hectare vineyard in the heart of Alsace, in the flourishing estates of Domaine Gross. Today, Rémy and Vincent continue to develop the family business with the primary goal of producing wines with great aromatic expression. Delicate manual care of the vine, the use of various plants (nettles, horsetails, etc.) and biodynamic preparations to enhance the soil, a short pruning in winter, and the preservation of microbial activity make it possible to obtain impeccably aromatic wines.

Each of the 7 terroirs of the domain is located in different parts of the village Gueberschwihr, with varying sunlight and soil conditions, allowing the vines to express the full power of their aromatic palette. Each grape variety grows on a plot that fully emphasizes the remarkable typicality, character, and aromatic finesse of each vintage. Here the best Muscat d'Alsace and Muscat Ottonel, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris could be found.

Harvesting is done entirely by hand. In direct pressing, the slow press method is used to maximize the preservation of grape aromas. For the maceration, the whole and de-stemmed bunches are in contact with the juice for 3 weeks. At the end of August, the wines are bottled and stored in the cellars for several months or years.
